Helped Keep My Skin Smooth & Clear

Let’s talk about the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask Anti-Pores, the better alternatives for cleaning out and minimizing the look of pores, and what masks I can count on to save my face tonight.

As a bit of background on my skin, I have oily/combo, acne-prone skin with a lot of hyperpigmentation from old acne scarring. I typically use mud/charcoal/clay masks once a week or so as a detox to pull any impurities from my pores and to control any white heads forming. I do not have problems with large pores or blackheads.

This is based on what the product claimt:

  • CLAIM TO FAME: An indulgent and creamy cleansing treatment mask that purifies and mattifies skin in 10 minutes

FAST FACTS: Deeply penetrates skin to remove impurities and unclog pores; minimize the look of blemishes and imperfections; refreshes, clarifies, and soothes with eucalyptus; formulated with 3 pure clays including kaolin, montmorillonite (a creamy green clay know for its purifying and rebalancing properties), and Moroccan lava clay or ghassoul

    PERFECT FOR: Oily, shiny skin
It was love at first use for this face mask.

The packaging is a heavy glass tub that is impractical if you want to travel but it looks sleek and classy sitting on my bathroom counter. I'm fine with the product being in jar packaging but it was hard to get every little bit of the mask out towards the end.

I haven't even had this product for a whole month, but I'm definitely loving it! This is my first try for clay masks, so I was pretty much excited. After the first wash, I noticed that my face looked brighter and more supple. My "oiliness" definitely improved ( I also use other BHA product besides this). What stopped me from giving this product a five star is the "anti-pores" phrase because it makes people assume that it could help with their big pores problems.

I was worried one tub might not last for many uses but it ended up lasting through a few months of weekly or fortnightly use. I apply a good layer of this mask to damp skin after cleansing and then wait 15-20 minutes. The mask dries down tight so I try not to leave it on for longer than 20 minutes as it makes my skin go a bit red. But once I rinse it off, my skin feels so smooth and soft! I love that my skin doesn't feel overly tight or dry after using this mask, unlike some other clay/mud/charcoal products I've used in the past. I haven't noticed any brightening but I think a product like a serum that you leave on the skin for a longer period is more suited for addressing deeper skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation. My skin was not 100% clear through the use of this product but it did reduce the duration and severity of any white heads.

The only possible negative I can think of is that it can make your sink very messy when you rinse it off since the product is grey/black.

I have other clay masks in my stash that I have to get through first but I will definitely be repurchasing this product.

So I'll give this product 4/5 stars. You can try this clay mask & you can get them in Guardian/Watsons or any drugstores out there. xx
